AERO BIRDS
1983 saw one of the most dramatic changes in the Thunderbird with the launch of the Aero Bird.
It's rounded edges and "jelly bean" profile found little favour by the auto critics at first, but it was the future with aero-dynamics becoming a huge factor, as the oil crisis of the late 1970's and mid 1980's had taught us a lesson.
Ford lead the way to advancement showing the value of being able to cut through the air effectively as a method of conserving fuel.
