BULLET BIRD

In 1961 Ford successfully launched the Bullet Bird which was designed to reflect the coming space age. 

Described as "Ready for Launch" this Bird looked like it was in flight.  It's bullit shaped flanks was a great departure from the prevous Square Bird models. As the car grew larger and heavier and now more luxurious than ever.

With a convertible top that could go from overhead to the trunk with the push of a button automatically the space age was here.

1962 Thunderbird Hardtop with something added.

While the continental kit was not a stock item, for these cars, a Vancouver company began manufacturing them specifially designed for the 1961 to 1966.

Below is the famous 1963 Thunderbird Italien which sold at Barrette Jackson in 2009 for the handsome price of $600,000.
